INSTRUCTORS
ALAN LIN
Alan Lin’s work is well known for its unique combination of eastern artistic themes and western expressive instruments. With a strong training in eastern painting and art history, Lin often goes to his roots to look for his artistic inspiration. Lin’s strong passions for the arts are clearly illustrated in his work. There are two distinct characteristics of Lin’s work that differentiate him from others. First, instead of capturing one creative inspiration with single piece of painting, he often savors that inspiration and prefers to create a series of painting on the same theme or topic. To him, the latter presents a more artistically challenging and testing task. Secondly, he likes having the opportunity to explore a variety of styles, which adds diversity and richness to his work.
Lin has taught at Jinan University in China as well as Foothill College and Pensacola Junior College in the United States, and his paintings are part of numerous private and corporate collections both domestically and internationally. With more than ten solo exhibitions and various group shows to his name, he has received multiple awards in numerous art competitions.
