Kathie George
Kathie George is known for her friendly, energetic approach to teaching. She loves her job and it shows!
Kathie is an internationally recognized artist, a much sought-after workshop instructor and author of several instructional art books and online courses. She is experimental and innovative when it comes to her use of media and says that moving from one to another keeps her work fresh and alive. She is best known for developing and teaching the watercolor batik on rice paper technique and her workshops are in demand all over the US.
Kathie was twice a finalist in Artist Magazine’s International Competition (over 16,000 entrants) and her work published in two of their limited-edition calendars. In addition, she has written articles and her work has been featured in many publications, such as: Watercolor Magazine, Plein Air Magazine, Watercolor Artist, American Artist, Artist Magazine and fully 6 of the Splash books, most recently included in the Splash Retrospective – 20 years of Contemporary Watercolor Excellence. Her awards are many and include being one of the latest winners of the Artist Network Over 60 Competition.
